A man wakes up. Anthony wakes up in an infinite stairwell with no memory, a disembodied voice and a corpse. He has no idea how he has gotten there, and he has no idea how to get out of this strange, dark space. The voice named M.P. guides him, promising the answer to all of life's questions if he can drag the body to the top of the staircase. But it's a much harder task than it seems. Along the way, he confronts the past, falls in love and gets closer to figuring it all out -- provided he can find a way not to die while trying. Directed and written by Connor McNamara, this existential horror-comedy short begins with a calamitous event, as a young child with cancer collapses. Then, as a grown man named Anthony, he awakens at the bottom of what looks like an infinite staircase, alongside a corpse and a disembodied voice. From that set-up, we're launched immediately into a surreal yet funny conundrum: Anthony must drag the body up the stairs as the voice attempts to spur him to enlightenment.
